The good thermoforming properties, as well as high mechanical strength, heat resistance, sterilization capability and gas-barrier properties, allow stable, economic packaging with cast nylon films. Common applications are for vacuum packaging of foodstuffs such as sausage, cheese, ham, fish, peanuts and other foods sensitive to oxygen.
